Trainers - Seasonal part-time/full-time positions available

Pay Range:
  • Pay is hourly with many weeks require overtime
  • Pay is commiserate with experience and very competitive 
Schedule: Seasonal Part-time, potential for Full-time advancement
Travel: 90%             Administrative: 10%
Location: Travel mostly in the Southeast US, with possible travel throughout the continental US

Objective

Join the growing and dynamic Challenge Towers team as one of our trainers!  Trainers travel to a myriad of different types of high and low challenge courses, aerial adventure parks and zip line/canopy tours both in the US and abroad to deliver ACCT accredited training offerings to course staff. This is a seasonal part-time position with potential for full-time advancement.

Responsibilities
  • Conducting trainings that meet standards
  • Delivering the highest quality trainings 
  • Managing risk at height in a training environment
  • Preparing thorough lesson plans, syllabi, and curriculum
  • Completing post training documentation
  • Facilitating written testing and practical skills verification \
Qualifications
  • Current Level II Practitioner Certification  OR ability to obtain certification through Challenge Towers or another PVM (meets prerequisites for L2 Full Certification)
  • Candidates with strong backgrounds in both low and high ropes are preferred.
  • Candidates with a strong background in only one discipline (low vs high) will still be considered for the position.
  • Proficiency with basic word processing software
  • Applicants should be able to:
    • manage a group of trainees at height while delivering the highest quality instruction
    • work for prolonged periods of time in a wide range of weather conditions (i.e. precipitation, extreme cold, heat, etc) while managing trainee’s wellbeing
    • work effectively both individually and as co-trainer
    • comfortably give and receive feedback to co-trainers and trainees
    • maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
    • remain current in industry standards and common practices
    • maintain flexibility with logistical needs of the training schedule
    • safely manage emergency situations
Details
  • Single trainings can last 1 to 5 days with additional associated documentation, communication, travel, and prep time
  • Training assignments can require being on the road up to 3 weeks with typical assignments lasting 1 week or less
  • Trainings are plentiful in the Spring and Summer, with some trainings occurring in the Fall and Winter
  • Employment is seasonal and on a project by project basis
  • Trainers that excel may have an opportunity to fill future roles in a growing organization, some of which are full-time
  • Trainers must attend a Challenge Towers trainer - training and receive a positive evaluation to be offered a position
  • Trainers will shadow and co-train with Lead Trainers before solo-training
  • Travel, housing, and food per diem is provided for training assignments
  • Trainers are also paid for travel days

Lead Aerial Course Installer

Pay Range: $25-$40 per hour + Travel Reimbursement and access to 401K
Status: Full Employee
Schedule: Based on contracted work
Travel: 85%             Administrative: 15%
Location: Continental U.S. with occasional international work
 
Challenge Towers is now hiring construction professionals to serve as on-site project leads for a team of aerial course installers.
 
Position Description
Lead a field-based crew in the successful completion of contracted maintenance and installation projects to include high, low, portable and initiative based challenge/ropes course elements, zip lines and canopy tours, and aerial adventure parks. 
 
The Lead Installer is a principal member of the management team charged with the efficient and profitable completion of a range of maintenance and construction projects. 
 
The management team consists of the Director of Design and Installation, Director of Maintenance and Inspections, Project Managers, and the Lead Installer.
 
The Lead Installer is involved in all phases of the project cycle including concept development, pre-construction design and planning, onsite installation management and post-construction review and project closeout. Installation teams often live on or near the installation site for the duration of a project. Project duration is based on scope and scale of installation and can range from several days to 3 months or more. The ability to work, live and support the morale of others for extended periods of time in adverse settings is a must.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to project design and development and pre-construction planning
  • Provide effective leadership, instruction, direction and supervision to installation team
  • Onsite manage of client partnership/relationship
  • Adhere to commercial construction standards and practices.
  • Manage project and personal safety
  • Track and report project progress and other key items
  • Plan for and participate in regular project team meetings
  • Interpret and utilize engineering documents, project plans, and shop drawings
  • Move and lift heavy items and structural components
  • Assemble structural components according to plans
  • Working at heights 
  • Perform a range of construction tasks that may include some or all of the following:
    • Ground support
    • Carpentry
    • Cabling
    • Tree work
    • Concrete
    • Heavy machinery operations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Extensive background in ropes course and aerial park design, installation and maintenance
  • Working knowledge of applicable ACCT, ASTM, OSHA, and ANSI standards
  • Self-directed, motivated, and safety minded team leader
  • Documented record of leading efficient projects and motivating individuals in adverse working conditions
  • Experienced team player committed to continual improvement
  • Creative thinker able to quickly evaluate and resolve issues and problems that arise during installation
  • Patience and a sense of humor

Aerial Course Installer

Challenge Towers is now hiring individuals with construction, climbing and rope/access experience to join our growing construction teams.
 
Position Description
Work as part of a field-based crew in the successful completion of contracted maintenance and installation projects to include high, low, portable and initiative based challenge/ropes course elements, zip lines and canopy tours, and aerial adventure parks.
 
Installation crews often live on or near the installation site for the duration of a project.
