Q: Is lodging or food covered in the training price?
No, lodging and food are not included in the cost.
Q: What are my lodging options?
If the course is hosted in Blowing Rock, NC, lodging facilities in the area include the following: Blowing Rock Conference Center (*This is where the training is held and the on-site option. Rooms are available at a first come, first served basis.); Hotels such as La Quinta, The Village Inn, Alpine Village Inn; and there are Air BNB options.
Q: Can I bring my own equipment?
You are welcome to bring your personal equipment, but we will have plenty of helmets, harnesses, and hardware for you to use. We will inspect any life safety equipment you bring, before allowing you to use it in the training.
Q: What are the requirements for training as a Level 2 practitioner?
You must meet, at minimum, the following criteria to train as a Level 2 practitioner as per ACCT standards: minimum age of 18; submit for review a challenge course portfolio documenting 200 hours as a Level 1 (Full Certification) practitioner.
Q: I have been in the challenge course industry for 10 years, but I do not have my Level 1 certification. Can I skip the Level 1 practitioner training and go straight to the Level 2 training?
This is on a case by case basis. At minimal, the challenge course portfolio must have at least 400 hours of program experience with a variety of operations (i.e. hours cannot be all from one course), plus 40 hours of training attended that was delivered by a Qualified Course Professional (QCP).
Q: If I get the Full Certification, does that mean I am certified on my course back home?
In order to be certified on a specific course, you would need to gain a site-specific certification. The full practitioner certification offered here is geared towards gaining conceptual knowledge that is broadly applicable to a variety of different course designs and operating systems. This training would better qualify you as a challenge course professional and help provide perspective on any courses you find yourself working on.
Q: What happens if I need to cancel my enrollment for the training and I have already paid?
Refunds will only be issued for cancellations 30 or more days prior to the training start date. Cancellations occurring with less than 30-days notice will be issued a full credit that can be applied to any Challenge Towers products or services within 1 year of the credit issuance date.
